BookView is a Chrome extension that splits any webpage into two synchronized side-by-side panels for comfortable reading. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Data Collection

BookView does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

• No personal information is collected.
• No browsing history or webpage content is recorded.
• No data is sent to any external server.
• No analytics or third-party tracking services are used.

Local Storage

BookView stores your layout preferences (Scroll/Fit mode and Desktop/Mobile view) locally on your device using chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your device and is only used to restore your settings the next time you use the extension.

Permissions

BookView requests the following Chrome permissions solely to provide its core functionality:

• scripting — To inject the dual-panel layout into the active webpage.
• activeTab — To access the current tab when triggered by the user.
• tabs — To identify the active tab when using keyboard shortcuts.
• storage — To save your layout preferences locally.
• host_permissions (<all_urls>) — To allow the layout script to run on any webpage the user chooses to view in dual-panel mode.

Third Parties

BookView does not share, sell, or transfer any data to third parties. No third-party libraries or services are used.
